Purpose and Use of Test

RTI Universal Screening Window

(all students grades 1 up)

August 8 – August 26 2016 Formative assessment used to determine basic reading/math level for intervention purposes.  This is a district test given in response to a state mandate.
Grade 2 Field Test

(with 3rd graders)

September 19 – 23 State Field Test used to inform the development of future tests.  Our students may or may not be asked to participate in this.
Grade 2-Alt Field Test

(with 3rd graders)

October 24 – 28 State Field Test used to inform the development of future tests.  Our students may or may not be asked to participate in this.
ACT Senior Retake

(Grade 12)

October 22 Summative assessment to determine academic progress.  This is assessment is used for college entrance and placement.
TCAP-Alt for social studies/science

(Grades 3 – 8), Biology Field Test

October 17 – November 4 State Field Test used to inform the development of future tests.  Our students may or may not be asked to participate in this.

AP Psychology May 1 Advanced Placement test are major summative assessments used to determine student mastery of the content, as well as to award college credit.

AP English Language and Composition (11th grade English) May 10 Advanced Placement test are major summative assessments used to determine student mastery of the content, as well as to award college credit.
AP World History May 11 Advanced Placement test are major summative assessments used to determine student mastery of the content, as well as to award college credit.
AP Human Geography May 12 Advanced Placement test are major summative assessments used to determine student mastery of the content, as well as to award college credit.

 

Parents will be informed of all district and state assessment results as soon as scores are available.  Assessment results will be sent home with students as they become available.  This information will also be included in newsletters from the district, school, or classroom teacher.  If parents have questions regarding test results they may call Stephen Long, District Testing Coordinator at 727-2640 at any time.
